Last Day of the Blog Hop ~ And It's Our Day!!!

All week we’ve been sharing about the Sullivan’s Cutting Edge Ruler, and hopping around to other fun blogs for cool tidbits and give aways…and today is our day here at Spring Water Designs!  Thanks to Pat Sloan for hosting this hop and inviting us to participate :) First, we wanted to share our favorite Sullivan’s rulers:

Heather’s favorite feature of the Sullivan’s Ruler is the frosted non-skid back.  Besides that, she likes the 6-1/2” x 12-1/2” size because she travels with her projects and it fits really well in a tote bag, and as you can see in the above picture mine stands up great in my rolling cart with my small mat.

My favorite feature of the Sullivan's ruler is of course the diamond incrusted cutting edge (which does seem to work at removing those annoying small burrs on the rotary blade that causes little individual threads to go un-cut periodically), thus extending the life of the blade.  I have several of these rulers, but my favorite is the little 4-1/2" x 8-1/2" rectangle that fits perfectly in my hand piecing travel clutch that I carry along everywhere.  It's small enough for easy travel, but large enough to work with!

Look for the Sullivan's Cutting Edge rulers at your local quilt shop, Joann's, or you can find them in my Web Store.  (Click Show All to see ones that we have in stock.)

So as part of the blog hop we were asked to share a favorite recipe, and late September in the Stewart house means Football Seaso...and Football season in our house means Taco Soup!  Mmm...Taco Soup is one of my favorite things about football :)  It's quick and easy ~ the perfect recipe for a quilter!

Click Here and scroll to the bottom of the page for our Taco Soup recipe :)

And just for fun, Pat asked us to answer a few random question:
Question 1. If I take a look inside your refrigerator what would I find?
...Oh my.  Well you will always find three types of Pepsi (I have a son who like regular Pepsi, Hubby likes Diet Cherry, and I like Caffine Free), Gaterade (son, remember), and my new thing is Bread Starter that I got from a friend...Any you'll usually find some beer and leftover pizza.

And you'll always find chocolate in our butter compartment :)

Question 2. What is your favorite TV show of All Time and why?
Heather’s favorite show of forever is X-files because she loves anything creepy, and she watched this show from it’s inception back in 1993.
My favorite show is NCIS because I like crime dramas…and Michael Weatherly…enough said.

Question 3. If Hollywood made a movie about your life, whom would you like to see play the lead role as you?
Ok, this one made us laugh outloud!  Heather picked Jewel Staite (Kaylee from Firefly) just because she likes her.  I came up with Mariska Hargitay from Law & Order SVU, because I think she's a cool chick, and hey...we're dreaming here right!

Ok, now that we've dispensed with the silliness, let's get down to the Nitty Gritty!  Leave a comment here on this post (tell us what's in your fridge right now), for a chance to win a Sullivan's Cutting Edge Ruler of your choice ~ Yes you get to pick the size that you want! ...And if you've gotten through to the end of this ridiculously long blog post, you deserve that!  We'll pick one random winner on Monday morning.

Hop on over to Emily Cier http://carolinapatchworks.com/blog who is the other featured blogger of the day!  And go back and read all of the bloggers from earlier this week and make sure you comment!
Oct 1 (Sat) – http://blog.patsloan.com
If you're new to our blog, you can scroll back to earlier posts this week for other tips and information on the Cutting Edge rulers, and don't forget our Quick Mystery BOM Runner.  You can click Here for the post with information, and get the Free pattern download ~ we just started with Block One this month, so it's not too late to jump in.  But hurry, Block Two comes out on October 7th, and it only goes for three months, so you'll have a finished table runner in time for the holidays!
And don't forget to upload your Block One blocks to our Flickr Group, or email them to me ~ we want to see the different colors everyone uses!
Enjoy the day! ~ Dawn

Ummm I hate answering this question because I guarantee you will find a science experiment or two. In addition you will find some leftoever Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup (its getting colder), some lunch meat (not sure if I would attempt that or not), condiments and Diet Coke. If I cleaned out the fridge you wouldn't find much. I don't clean it out often or the hubby would know I need to go grocery shopping. Thanks for sharing.

Mine is so full of leftovers right now. Had a girls night get together last night so have the leftover lazy lasagna with butternut squash and escarole, big hit at the party and at home. Also have leftover Arroz con Pollo that I made from the hop earlier this week,,,oh so good! Of course, all the essentials are there too,,,milk, butter, condiments, fruits, veggies,,,,all the stuff to make all the goodness from the hop recipes!

This one was emailed to me because she couldn't get her comment to post:
"In my fridge you will always find a large bucket of fresh cow's milk! We pick up our milk twice a week from the local farmer, and I will never drink store milk again. This stuff is soooo yummy. The Hubby and Kids love it too! Thanks for a great giveaway! I am starting quilting and have NOTHING but a sewing machine and some fabric, so am collecting my pennies to buy everything else. These great rulers have been added to my list if I don't win one here! THANKS!"

My fridge has nothing to exciting in it... soy cheese & soy milk (for me), real marble cheese, flavored milks (for my kids), salad stuff, condiments, leftover pasta from supper, watermelon, yogurt, and eggs. :)

April Mae said...

The fridge...

Lots and lots of sauces and condiments.

Some left over homemade mac and cheeze. Left over Chili from last night. A lb of sirloin. Salad greens. A crap ton and a half of Tomatoes. And more cheeze than any one person should ever consume in one lifetime. I'm talking an entire drawer of ever kind of cheeze you can get at whole foods.

So that's my fridge. It's sort of messy. But then again whos isn't?

I've posted on everyones wall this week. Gonna keep my fingers crossed.

Wrong day for the fridge. We had a HS cross country team spaghetti dinner here last night and although I tried to send most everything home with the kids or coaches, My fridge still has leftover spaghetti, salad, bread, and cookies. And bottled dressing, why don't kids take home dressing? Amazingly, they did good on the dishes, everyone remembered to take home their dishes! We fed around 75. It was madhouse for about 30 minutes but once we got food into the boys things quieted down a little. Of course, they were back for seconds before the adults had firsts but they were all good . Fun night, overstuffed fridge. Thanks for the ruler info and offer.

We have two fridges. One is for the raw milk from our milk cow. In it there are 8 gallons of milk, 2 gallons of cream (which needs to be made into butter), eggs and some homemade butter. In the food fridge there are some vegetables, cheese (cream cheese and cheddar), a half gallon jar of pickles,3 more gallons of milk, more eggs and a pint of homemade wine leftover from last year, made with concord grapes. Our chocolate is stashed in the pantry away from prying grandchildren eyes. : ) I have buttermilk "churning" in the Kitchenaid mixer that will go in the fridge later.
I would love to win that ruler! Thanks for the opportunity!

Hmmmm...In our fridge right now...not much! Today was payday for us old retired folks and it was a long stretch this month. We are down to the ever present yogurt, milk and ketchup. Then there are a few old tortillas, one English muffin and about 1/3 of a block of cheese left. Of course there are a couple of frozen pizzas and two chicken breasts. Wow, guess it really is time to go to the store, LOL. OMG, I'm down to 3 Pepsi's and we are out of bottled water!!! Actually we would have stocked up by now but we have both been down with the flu and we refuse to shop on payday weekends, so it's gonna be slim pickings for the weekend. Of course, we COULD go out to eat tomorrow since it has been over a month since we went out. Yup, that's what we will do. Hugs...

The reason some people are having trouble leaving comments is because you don't have it set for "pop up window" which makes it easy for everyone to leave a comment. this is a blogger problem not caused by you by the way.

There's a watermelon in my fridge and lots of leftovers. Not too much fun there. I love the new rulers and want one badly. Great giveaway. Thanks, Kd

In my fridge- Ok here goes... batteries, at food, leftover veggie chili that we yet to eat (had pizza instead(!), cream cheese- a must for my bagel and butter- a must for hubbies bagel and other things that no longer resemble food! Guess that means it is time to clean out the fridge!
Thanks for the chance to win.

In my fridge - oh dear, I don't think there's much inspiration to be found there! An empty egg bin; a left over rice/chili casserole that hubby concocted (actually, it was very good); an old yogurt container that needs to be trashed; stale tortillas. I think hubby needs to go grocery shopping, so I can keep on piecing a quilt! ;-)

Not a ton in my fridge at the moment. I need to go shopping! We have milk, eggs, butter, grapes, cheese, tomatoes, ham, oj, and yogurt. That sure makes me sound healthy, eh? Well, I just cleaned out all the gross stuff and some uneaten chocolate cake and an almost gone jar of caramel sauce that's been in there for I don't know how long. And, I'm eating the leftover lo mein as I type.

Thanks for the chance - I'd love to win one of these neat-o rulers!

For Sandi:
My husband loves the X-Files also and watches it every day even when he’s seen the same episode numerous times.

We had a lot of cake in our fridge this week but are now down to 2 pieces. The leftover are just about eaten up so now the fridge is looking quite bare.
