Weekend of Memories

It's been a long week of sorting through everyday objects, and finding little treasures. My brother and his wife came into town this weekend to visit my Dad in the nursing home, and to help me with his apartment. Much of what we went through were of course day to day items, and sorting what needs to be kept for my Dad, and what needs to find a new home.

One of my Dad's little idiosyncrasies was scotch taping things up all around his apartment ~ so while taking things down and picking tape off of the walls, I came across this old Polaroid photo (taped to the side of a lamp.?.) of me and my Dad circa about 1965. This one has been well handled, both taped and tacked up (I've seen it in different places around his apartment over the years), and it's starting to fade. I think I'm going to have it scanned, repaired, and blown up a little larger to take to my Dad's new room and add it to the photo array that we have going there...but I've decided the original is going to stay with me, complete with the scotch taped edges.

And to help sustain me through this weekend I purchased these tulips on Thursday to greet me each day when I got home, and they made me smile every time I walked in the house ~ they were a great investment :)

Enjoy the day!
