Happy Birthday America!
Just a little show and tell for the day ~ The block above is part of this afghan that I did the cross stitching on a while back. It hangs on the wall at the top of our stairwell. (I believe the pattern was from The Prairie Schooler). I used to do a lot of counted cross stitch, before I got a job in a quilt shop :)Having my birthday the day before Independence Day, we usually celebrated it with family at 4th of July festivities. I was a pretty big child before I came to the realization that those fireworks that they were shooting off had nothing to do with my birthday cake :)
I hope you all enjoy your Independence Day celebrations and festivities!

A very nice stitchery indeed! I used to do a lot of cross stitch, pre-quilting. Now I get the urge when I see interesting cross stitch projects on the blogs but have to curb my desire.
Dawn, I did the same afghan way back when! I also love to cross stitch. That's how I got into quilting, my cross stitch store also carried quilting supplies. I still love to cross stitch reproduction samplers. I always have one in progress. Happy Birthday and Happy July 4th!
wow, what a pretty embroidery. Happy Birthday and Happy Fourth (the fireworks ARE for your birthday :-) )!
Beautiful embroidery! What a treasure. Happy Fourth!
