Baltimore Applique Day

Today is my monthly Baltimore Applique Class, so here is the 'unveiling' of my block from this past month. I had shown the layered roses earlier while things were in progress, but this is the finished product. The skill that we had learned was Layered Roses. I thought this was a fun block to do for July. The pattern for this block can be found in The City Springs Commemorative Quilt booklet made by the Baltimore Applique Society for the Maryland Historical Society. I think I might do next month's block from this book as well.

I have 9 blocks done now, and am planning on my quilt being 4 blocks x 4 blocks set with red sashing ~ so I still have a ways to go. I need to figure out what I want to do for my borders as well, and I'm checking out every picture of a Baltimore Album quilt that I can find to see what elements I like. I love the planning though ~ that and picking out the fabrics is one of my favorite aspects of quilting...so I still have a lot more fun coming from this quilt!

Enjoy your day!
~ Dawn

I have to go back now and see your other blocks.
