We're Off to See the Wizard!

Keeping with the Wizard of Oz theme, here's what I've been up to this week so far! I finished the top for the color version of the Wizard of Oz "Whirlwind" Quilt today for the quilt shop. It's the first technicolor one that I've done. I had made several for customer orders in the sepia tones (pictured below) and had made one for my daughter Heather ~ who is a huge Wizard of Oz fan! They were so popular before Christmas that I even let them sell the one I had made for Heather.

So while I was putting together the technicolor version, I started piecing a new sepia top for Heather (I told you I would get to it ~ winking at you Heather). Now I just have to get it quilted up. I think I will have to sneak in work on it this weekend while I'm on the OP Virtual Retreat ~ I think it blends well enough with orange to get away with that! "Buy the way", kits for both versions of the Whirlwind Quilt are available in our shop's online store :)

And while I was excavating during my sewing room renovation I found this pillow top that I had stitched and pieced for Heather a while back. This one was made with some vintage style Wizard of Oz fabric that I had found years ago. I even found a pillow form deep in the mines of my closet, so this one will be completed this weekend too. Heather will think it's Christmas or something!

A heart is not judged by how much you love; but by how much you are loved by others. ~ The Wizard of Oz

Enjoy the day!

Don't I "owe" you the quilting of Oz? At first glance, I thought the stitchery was the quilt back. That would have been very cool!!

Oh, I love the Wizard of Oz quilts! They are fabulous. I only see the Sepia kit at the store though, do you have the technicolor as well?

Michelle ~ I do have the color kits of the Wizard of Oz on our website, but for some reason the picture is not showing up (I'll work on fixing that). The picture should be the same one that you see here on my blog. It can be found on our kit page just to the right of the Sepia color version. Thanks for your comment!
