A Productive Day

First I want to say Thank You for the emails about the Mountain Baby Blanket project! We have a staff planning meeting at the Quilt Shop this week and I should have a date for a Sewing Day to make baby blankets soon, so stay tuned. Collections for donations will be ongoing ~ so no deadlines, just contact me when you have donations ready!

Yesterday was one of those productive days! I hit the sewing room early and finished up the binding on the Batik Star quilt pictured above. I had made this top quite a while back for a class I taught on paper piecing, and recently had Jean McDonald quilt it for me. The picture doesn't show it, but she did a wonderful job with an all over design! (You can see it a little better if you click on the picture for a larger view.) I also finally got the last borders on my Jo Morton Club "Holiday Inn" project. Better late than never, right?

I also worked on my magazine quilt, added to my calendar quilt, finished the little top for the Thimbleberries Club next week, and did the little mini quilt to go around Heather's punchneedle sample. Bobby came home from school and said, "Don't you ever get tired of sewing?" I just asked him if he ever gets tired of video games and that pretty much ended the discussion :)

I finished the day by attending my Guild meeting ~ I turned in my check, so I've officially rejoined! Heather came with me and we kind of indoctrinated her. Darlys had her do show and tell and everything. I think we can talk her into joining :)

Today I need to get downstairs and organize in my craft room. It has to be done, I can hardly walk in there and it is spilling into our back storage room (and Bob needs to be able to walk in there). I made a pact with him that I'd clean it up by the time I go back to work on Wednesday, and he wouldn't throw anything before then :) It's also a computer day today. I have patterns to write, staff calendars to do, and my other job (clerical work for another company) to do. Cleaning the craft room will be a nice diversion in the middle of the day!

Enjoy the day!
~ Dawn
